One of the most innovative trail run events in the region!
Coming in 2022
The Empower Off Road Challenge is an exciting individual or team event where you have the opportunity to run as many 1.5 mile loops as possible within your chosen time category of 2 - 4 - 6 or 8 hours. The object of the challenge is within YOU, the participant!
How many loops are you willing to push yourself to run, walk, and even crawl within your selected and respective time period?
Every time you and/ or your teammates finish the 1.5 mile loop you will cross under the arch and circle around the Festival Area. All athletes will keep the motivation at a high level as you are greeted by spectators, music, team tents, and a roaring bon fire. Experience a true “Run Party” Atmosphere at the conclusion of each loop.
The course will be a 1.5 mile looped “Double Laned” gravel road and trail in Forest, Virginia. We are using the local high school competition Cross Country Course. The terrain is flat with a few modest rollers. It’s an all dirt trail which meanders through the woods, heavy tree cover for a vast majority of the run with some open field sections, highlighted by a wide running path throughout.
We will have an Aid Station with water and electrolytes at the Start/ Finish line. In addition teams will be allowed to setup their own Aid Station at their team tents or transition table. Transition tables provided by Race Organization.
SWAG That Will Make You Brag!
ALL Individual Racers and each Team Member receive a Tech Shirt, Medal and Custom Race Bib. Each Individual/ Team has the opportunity to setup Tents in the Festival Area that will be circled by athletes at the conclusion of each loop.
Racers will also get some cool things from our sponsors!

How It Works
Event is Chip Timed (timing chip integrated into your race bib).
Individual and Team runners receive credit for each lap completed within their designated race category of 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. There will be timing mats at the Start/ Finish as well as the half way point of the run. Total credit given to the farthest checkpoint achieved during your designated race time.
There will be a designated “transition zone” for teams and individuals just after the Start/ Finish line. We encourage all teams and individuals to bring tents and set-up your own Aid Station/ Team Zone. We want the Transition Zone to be fun and filled with Energy. We will provide the music, we want you to get creative with your team transition zone - tent. We will have an Award for the most “Energetic” Team Zone.
Racers receive a Tech Shirt & Medal for each athlete upon event completion. (Specific Awards TBD)
We will be announcing Raffle prize winners throughout the day. Runners/ Teams who get picked for a Raffle Prize while running will have their prize put aside or delivered to their Team Tent.
